Principle for Selecting Cable Chains
Inner Height: Use the thickest piece of the internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as the height reference, adding an extra 10% space height for a minimum inner height (HI). If overlapping, consider the overlapped height as the actual height.
Inner Width: Sum the outside diameters of the thicker cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes to determine the inner width, leaving at least a 10% space margin.
Radius of a Bend: Use the largest bend radius of a cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as a reference value, ensuring a 10% space margin.
Instruction Principles for Internally Laid Cables, Oil Pipes, Water Pipes, or Gas Pipes
Reserve 15% of the space as a margin to allow internally laid cables and oil pipes to move freely. This prevents any stress on the drag chains in the radius direction.
For cables that vary significantly in diameter, lay them separately to ensure balanced weight distribution. Use spacers as needed to keep them apart.
In high-speed or high-frequency operations, lay horizontally positioned cables in a parted manner to avoid overlapping. If there are many cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes together, it is advisable to use spacers.
Construction of the Cable Chain
The chain's appearance resembles a tank crawler, consisting of several joints. These crawler joints can turn freely, providing flexibility.
Chains of the same series share identical inner and outer heights and pitch, but the inner width and bend radius (R) can be customized according to different specifications.
A unit chain joint comprises a left-right chain plate and an up-down cover. Each chain joint can be opened for easy assembly and disassembly without threading. Cables, oil pipes, and gas pipes can be placed inside the drag chain after opening the cover plate.
Spacers are available to divide the space inside the chain into segments according to your requirements.
