Principle for Selecting Cable Chain
Inner Height: Determine the inner height (HI) by using the thickest piece of the internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as a reference. Add at least 10% of the space height to the reference height. If overlapping occurs, use the overlapped height as the actual height.
Inner Width: Calculate the inner width by summing the outside diameters of the thicker cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes. Ensure to add at least 10% of the space as a margin.
Radius of a Bend: Use the largest radius of a bend from the cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes as the reference value. Include a margin of 10% to ensure smooth operation.
Instruction Principles for Internally Laid Cables, Oil Pipes, Water Pipes, or Gas Pipes
Ensure that 15% of the space is reserved as a margin to allow the internally laid cables and oil pipes to move freely. This prevents stress on the drag chains in the radial direction.
For cables of significantly different diameters, lay them separately and balance the weight evenly. If necessary, use spacers to separate them.
In high-speed or high-frequency operations, horizontally laid cables should be separated and not overlapped. If there are many cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes laid together, it is recommended to use spacers.
Construction of the Cable Chain
The chain's structure resembles a tank's crawler, composed of a series of joints. These crawler joints can freely rotate, providing flexibility and strength.
Chains in the same series maintain uniform inner height, outer height, and pitch. However, the inner width and bend radius (R) can be customized to meet different specifications.
Each unit chain joint consists of a left-right chain plate and an updown cover. These joints can be opened for easy assembly and dismantling without the need for threading. After opening the cover plate, cables, oil pipes, and gas pipes can be conveniently placed inside the drag chain.
Spacers are available for segmenting the interior space of the chain as required, ensuring organized and efficient cable management.
