They are ideal for dynamic applications between fixed and moving portions of the machine. Cable carriers reduce wear on cables and tubes, prevent cable entanglement, and improve machine operation and appearance.
When selecting a cable chain, it is essential to consider the inner height, inner width, and radius of a bend based on the dimensions of the cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes being used. The inner height should be at least 10% higher than the tallest component, while the inner width should accommodate the sum of the outside diameters with a 10% margin. The radius of a bend should match the largest bend radius with a 10% margin.
For internally laid cables and pipes, a 15% margin should be reserved to allow for free movement and prevent stress on the drag chains. Different diameter cables should be laid separately and balanced evenly, with spacers used if needed. High-speed operations require horizontally laid cables to be separated and not overlapped, with spacers recommended for multiple cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes.
The construction of the cable chain resembles a tank crawler with joints that can freely rotate. Each unit chain joint consists of left-right chain plates and up-down covers, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly without threading. Spacers can be used to divide the space inside the chain as needed.
