Inner Height: Measure the thickest cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe internally installed and add at least 10% to this height for space clearance, ensuring it as the inner height (HI). If overlapping occurs, consider the combined height as the actual height.
Inner Width: Calculate the sum of the outer diameters of the thicker cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes and add at least 10% space margin to determine the inner width.
Radius of Bend: Use the largest bend radius of any cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe and add a 10% space margin as the reference value.
Instruction Principles for Internally Laid Cables, Oil Pipes, Water Pipes, or Gas Pipes
Ensure that 15% of space is reserved to allow internal cables and oil pipes to move freely, preventing any stress on the drag chains in the radial direction.
Cables with significantly different diameters should be laid separately with evenly balanced weight. Use spacers to separate them if necessary.
In high-speed or high-frequency operations, horizontally laid cables should be partitioned and not overlapped. If numerous cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes are laid together, spacers are recommended.
Construction of the Cable Chain
Resembling a tank crawler, the chain consists of a series of joints that freely rotate. Each joint contributes to the flexible and robust structure of the cable chain.
Chains in the same series feature identical inner and outer heights and pitch, but the inner width and bend radius (R) can be tailored to different specifications.
Each unit chain joint is composed of left-right chain plates and an up-down cover. These joints can be easily opened for assembly and dismantling, allowing cables, oil pipes, and gas pipes to be placed in the drag chain after opening the cover plate.
Spacers can be utilized to subdivide the internal space of the chain according to specific requirements, offering enhanced organization.
