Principles for Selecting Cable Chain

 

• Inner Height: The inner height (HI) of the cable chain should be determined by taking the reference height of the thickest internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe and adding at least 10% of the space height as the HI. If there is overlapping, the overlapped height should be considered as the actual height.


• Inner Width: The inner width of the cable chain should be determined by summing up the outside diameter of the thicker cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes and leaving at least 10% of the space as a margin.


• Radius of a Bend: The radius of the biggest bend of a cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe should be taken as a reference value, leaving 10% of the space as a margin.


 

 

Instruction Principles for Internally Laid Cable, Oil Pipe, Water Pipe, or Gas Pipe

 

• 15% of the space should be reserved as a margin to allow free movement of internally laid cables and oil pipes, preventing stress on the drag chains in the direction of the radius.


• If there are cables with significantly different diameters, they should be laid separately and the weight should be evenly balanced. Spacers can be used to separate them if necessary.


• When operating at high speed or high frequency, horizontally laid cables should be separated and not overlapped. If there are many cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes laid together, it is recommended to use spacers.


 

 

Construction of the Cable Chain

 

The cable chain features a crawler-like appearance, resembling the joints of a tank's crawler. The joints of the crawler can freely rotate.

 

Each unit chain joint consists of a left-right chain plate and an up-down cover. The chain joints can be easily opened for convenient assembly and dismantling without threading. Cables, oil pipes, and gas pipes can be placed into the drag chain after opening the cover plate.

 

Spacers are available for use, allowing the space inside the chain to be divided into divisions according to specific requirements.
