What is Steel Cable Chain?
 

Steel Cable carriers are designed to guide, contain, and protect electrical cables/Oil pipes and hoses during machine movement. For use in dynamic applications between fixed and moving portions of the machine. Cable carriers reduce wear on cables and tubes, prevent cable entanglement, improve machine operation and appearance.

Principles for Selecting Cable Chain:

• Inner Height: Take the thickest internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as the reference height plus 10% of the space height at least as the inner height (HI). If overlapping, take the overlapped height as the actual height.


• Inner Width: Take the sum of the outside diameter of the thicker cables, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as the reference of the inner width and leave at least 10% of the space as a margin.


• Radius of a Bend: Take the biggest radius of a bend of a cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as a reference value and leave 10% of the space as a margin.

Instruction Principles for Internally Laid Cable, Oil Pipe, Water Pipe, or Gas Pipe:

• 15% of the space should be reserved as a margin for freely moving internally laid cables and oil pipes to prevent stress on the drag chains.


• For cables with different diameters, lay them separately and balance the weight evenly. Use spacers if necessary to separate them.


• When operating at high speed or frequency, horizontally laid cables should not be overlapped. Use spacers if too many cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes are laid together.

Construction of the Cable Chain:

• The chain resembles the crawler of a tank with a certain number of joints that can freely turn round.


• Each unit chain joint consists of a left-right chain plate and an up-down cover, allowing easy assembly and dismantling without threading.


• Spacers are available to divide the space inside the chain into divisions as needed.
