Steel Cable carriers are designed to guide, contain, and protect electrical cables/Oil pipes and hoses during machine movement. For use in dynamic applications between fixed and moving portions of the machine. Cable carriers reduce wear on cables and tubes, prevent cable entanglement, improve machine operation and appearance.

Principles for Selecting Cable Chain

• Inner Height: The inner height (HI) of the cable chain should be determined by taking the reference height of the thickest internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe, and adding at least 10% of the space height as the HI. If there is overlapping, the overlapped height should be considered as the actual height.


• Inner Width: The inner width of the cable chain should be determined by taking the sum of the outside diameter of the thicker cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes as the reference, and leaving at least 10% of the space as a margin.


• Radius of a Bend: The radius of a bend for the cable chain should be determined by taking the biggest radius of a bend of a cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as a reference value, and leaving 10% of the space as a margin.

Instruction Principles for Internally Laid Cable, Oil Pipe, Water Pipe, or Gas Pipe

• 15% of the space should be reserved as a margin to allow the internally laid cables and oil pipes to move freely without stressing the drag chains in the direction of the radius.


• If there are cables with significantly different diameters, they should be laid separately and the weight should be balanced evenly. Spacers can be used to separate them if necessary.


• When operating at high speed or high frequency, horizontally laid cables should be separated and not overlapped. If there are too many cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes laid together, it is recommended to use spacers.

Construction of the Cable Chain

The cable chain resembles the crawler of a tank, consisting of a certain number of joints that can freely turn round.

The same series of chain has the same inner height, outer height, and pitch, but the inner width and bend radius (R) can be customized according to different specifications.

A unit chain joint consists of a left-right chain plate and an up-down cover. Each chain joint can be easily opened up for assembly and dismantling without threading. Cables, oil pipes, and gas pipes can be placed into the drag chain after opening the cover plate.

Spacers are available for use, allowing the space inside the chain to be divided into divisions as per requirements.
