What is Steel Cable Chain?
 

Steel Cable carriers are designed to guide, contain, and protect electrical cables/Oil pipes and hoses during machine movement. For use in dynamic applications between fixed and moving portions of the machine. Cable carriers reduce wear on cables and tubes, prevent cable entanglement, improve machine operation and appearance.

When selecting a cable chain, consider the following principles:

• Inner Height: Take the tallest internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as a reference height, adding at least 10% of the space height as the inner height (HI).


• Inner Width: Calculate the sum of the outside diameters of the thickest cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes as the inner width, leaving a 10% margin of space.


• Bend Radius: Use the largest bend radius of a cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as a reference value, with a 10% margin of space.

For internally laid cables, oil pipes, water pipes, or gas pipes, reserve 15% of the space as a margin to allow for free movement and prevent stress on the drag chains. Different diameter cables should be laid separately and balanced evenly.

The construction of the cable chain resembles a tank's crawler, with joints that can freely rotate. Each unit chain joint consists of left-right chain plates and up-down covers, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly without threading. Spacers are available to divide the space inside the chain as needed.

Ensure that when operating at high speeds or frequencies, horizontally laid cables are not overlapped. If multiple cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes are laid together, use spacers for separation.
