What is Steel Cable Chain?
 

Steel Cable carriers are designed to guide, contain, and protect electrical cables/Oil pipes and hoses during machine movement. For use in dynamic applications between fixed and moving portions of the machine. Cable carriers reduce wear on cables and tubes, prevent cable entanglement, improve machine operation and appearance.

Cable Chain Selection Guide

Principle for selecting cable chain

Inner height: Take the tallest internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as the reference height. Add at least 10% of the space height as the inner height (HI). If overlapping, use the overlapped height as the actual height.

Inner width: Calculate the sum of the outside diameters of the thicker cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes as the reference for the inner width. Leave at least 10% of the space as a margin.

Radius of a bend: Use the largest radius of a bend of a cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe as a reference value. Leave 10% of the space as a margin.

Instruction principles for internally laid cable, oil pipe, water pipe, or gas pipe

Reserve 15% of the space as a margin for internally laid cables and oil pipes to move freely without stressing the drag chains. Different diameter cables should be laid separately with balanced weight. Use spacers if necessary.

For high-speed or high-frequency operations, horizontally laid cables should be separated and not overlapped. Use spacers when laying many cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes together.

Construction of the cable chain

The chain resembles a tank's crawler with freely turning joints. Each unit chain joint consists of left-right chain plates and up-down covers for easy assembly and dismantling. Cables, oil pipes, and gas pipes can be placed inside the drag chain after opening the cover plate.

Spacers are available to divide the chain's interior into divisions as needed.
