What is Steel Cable Chain?
Steel Cable carriers are designed to guide, contain, and protect electrical cables/Oil pipes and hoses during machine movement. For use in dynamic applications between fixed and moving portions of the machine. Cable carriers reduce wear on cables and tubes, prevent cable entanglement, improve machine operation and appearance.

Principles for Selecting Cable Chain

Inner Height: The inner height (HI) of the cable chain should be determined by taking the reference height of the thickest internally installed cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe. Add at least 10% of the space height as the inner height. If there is overlapping, consider the overlapped height as the actual height.

Inner Width: The inner width of the cable chain should be based on the sum of the outside diameter of the thicker cables, oil pipes, gas pipes, or water pipes. Leave at least 10% of the space as a margin.

Radius of a Bend: The cable chain should accommodate the biggest radius of a bend of a cable, oil pipe, gas pipe, or water pipe. Leave 10% of the space as a margin.

Instruction Principles for Internally Laid Cable, Oil Pipe, Water Pipe, or Gas Pipe

Ensure that 15% of the space is reserved as a margin to allow internally laid cables and oil pipes to move freely without stressing the drag chains in the direction of the radius.

If there are cables with significantly different diameters, they should be laid separately and their weight should be balanced evenly. Spacers can be used to separate them if necessary.

When operating at high speed or high frequency, horizontally laid cables should be parted and should not overlap. If there are many cables, gas pipes, and oil pipes laid together, it is recommended to use spacers.

Construction of the Cable Chain

The cable chain resembles the crawler of a tank, consisting of a certain number of joints that can freely turn round.

Each unit chain joint consists of a left-right chain plate and an up-down cover. The chain joints can be easily opened up for convenient assembly and dismantling without threading. Cables, oil pipes, and gas pipes can be placed into the drag chain after opening the cover plate.

Spacers are available for use, allowing the space inside the chain to be divided into divisions according to specific requirements.
